NATURAL NUTRITION & ENERGY-BALANCE
Anti-stress diet
Today many people suffer from stress; today’s pace of life can be in many cases frantic, rushed and overloaded with activities. This increasingly removes us from our center, from our personal balance at all levels.Today’s stress is one of the factors that most weaken our body. It is essential that through food we recover the lost balance and harmony. In order to do this we must start by creating new habits that relax us and help us regain our lost vitality.
• Simplicity: Austere but complete cooking, avoiding complex dishes with too many foods and flavors. Simple cooking will give us clarity.
• No mixing: We will try and avoid complex dishes so as to savor separately and thoroughly the different foods in our meals.
• Whole and natural foods: Avoid highly refined foods. Natural and whole foods that resonate with our body will be better.
• No leftovers: Avoid reheated meals from previous days that don’t bring the same freshness and vitality as a freshly cooked dish.
• Chewing: The act of chewing food as well as cooking it properly to be well digested has a calming effect on our bodies. To do this we must chew each bite 30 to 50 times.
• Eat slowly: Spend time eating with no rush.
• Relaxed: It is important to eat in a relaxed, clean environment without noises or TV. Avoid where possible work meetings during meals.
• Foods that center us:
-
Wholegrain cereals (rice, millet, quinoa...).
-
Green vegetables that help us purify accumulated energy.
-
Round and root vegetables, sweet vegetables like onions, squash or parsnips will provide sweetness and will naturally relax us.
-
Vegetable protein: Legumes, tofu, seitan or tempeh will be of first importance at this time.
-
Seaweed: Being the best source of minerals in our food, they will help us regain those minerals lost by stress.
• Soft and slow cooking: It is advisable to use cooking methods such as steaming, stewing and sweet vegetable soups. A slower, harmonious cooking style will directly influence the foods being cooked, which in turn will have an effect on us when we eat them. Similarly, we occasionally advise against cooking styles such as wok, sauté and of course microwave cooking.Furthermore, it is important to do a bit of physical exercise daily that relaxes us.
And finally, being able to get in touch with nature will help us adjust our energy balance and regain the pace of natural life. A walk in the woods, in the countryside or on the beach may be enough.
